General information for the room smoke detector FWD 305
The optical (photoelectric) room smoke detector FWD 305 is equipped
with a microprocessor which means each room smoke detectors has two signal possibilities when fire incident (fire alarm signal and warning alarm signal):
> Fire alarm signal from the room smoke detector that initially activated the alarm.
> Warning alarm signal from other room smoke detectors in the system.
Activating power supply to the room smoke detector
When activating power supply to the room smoke detector, the siren will respond with a Morse signal (Long, Short, Short, Short) L.S.S.S. and this means the room smoke detector working perfectly.
Testing the room smoke detector
By pushing the test button on the room smoke detector,
the siren activates the fire warning signal.
When test button on room smoke detector is released,
the siren gives signal S.S.S. (Short, Short, Short).
FWD 305 standard type, basic programming:
Room smoke detector with fire alarm siren and alarm relay output, power supply 12-24 Vdc.
> Fire Alarm Siren activates with a periodical signal when smoke activates the room smoke detector.
> Relay alarm output activates directly when the room smoke detector sensing smoke (change over contact SPDT; SPNO and SPNC, 1A at 24 Vdc).
> Delay, the relay has 8 seconds delay before the relay activates on the room smoke detector.
> Inter connection via one extra wire. Other room smoke detectors in the system are getting activated with +pole when one room smoke detector sensing smoke.

Optical (photoelectric) room smoke detector in comparasion with
ionization room smoke detector
The room smoke detector FWD 305-series is an optical room smoke detector type.
Optical room smoke detector type is also named as photoelectric room smoke detector type. Optical room smoke detectors are more sensitive to fires in the early smouldering stage in comparasion with ionization room smoke detectors.
Ionization room smoke detectors are more sensitive to the flaming stage of fires in comparasion with optical room smoke detectors.
